The focus of this self-guided GPS route (as downloadable TCX/GPX files) is to get a taste of the magnificent colli Maceratesi and the rich terrain this part of Le Marche offers. Even though you will avoid the high Apennini (see Montemonaco loop route package), there is still significant climbing in these ‘mere’ foot hills, so be prepared to engage you climbers head and legs for a big day. The route takes you west towards Lago di Borgiano, and the first long climb to San Ginesio, on fairly shallow gradients (4-7%). Then you head north on fast, twisty and generally quiet rolling roads which can easily get the better off you if you don’t pace yourself. If you don’t soak in the final views form this fantastic adventure, will get a chance when relaxing next to the pool at Casale Volpe.
