The area has a rich history; the Medici once resided in the many villas and castelli and is also known for ancient Etruscan settlements and archeology. Rufina is situated just to the south, famous for its Chianti Classico wineries. Description

Four sizeable Appenine passes await you, as you venture from Tuscany into Emilia-Romagna for a day of tough climbs and great descents. Not to be under-estimated, the elevation of these local legends soon add up. Set in the stunning Appenini Romagnoli natural zone you will soon feel respect for the pro racers who take these climbs in their stride during the Tirreno-Adriatico or Giro d’Italia. At the bottom of each descent you have a chance to catch your breath, refuel and take in your surroundings before the start of the next onslaught. The plains of Mugello will be a welcome relief for sore legs, as you get to spin out 3000 metres of climbing before making it back for a deserving dip in the pool at La Topaia.

You are well positioned to explore the surrounding countryside as well as easy access to Fiesole and Florence city by car. There is a large swimming pool for guest use in the summer.
